Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Notary Public?
A Notary Public is a state appointed official who serves as an impartial witness in the signing of important documents. Their primary role is to prevent fraud by verifying the identity of the signers, ensuring they are signing willingly and are aware of what they are signing.
Can you help answer questions I have regarding my documents?
As a notary public in Georgia, I am not authorized to provide legal advice or interpret legal documents. If you have questions regarding legal matters, I recommend consulting with a licensed attorney, Title Company or where documents originate from. However, I am happy to assist with the notarization process and answer any questions related to that service.
What identification do I need to provide for notarization?
You must present a valid government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license, military ID, State-Issued Identification Card or passport.
What is a Jurat?
A notarial act where the signer swears or affirms under oath that the contents of a document are true and accurate to the best of their knowledge.
What is a Affirmation?
An affirmation is a solemn declaration made without religious context, often used by individuals who prefer not to swear an oath for personal or religious reasons.
What type of documents can Beautiful Dream Notary notarize?
We provide professional notarization services for a wide range of documents, including affidavits, powers of attorney, wills, deeds, and other essential legal and business documents.
Do you provide Remote Online Notary (RON)?
Remote online notarization is not permitted in Georgia, as it was suspended on April 15, 2022. As of now, it remains illegal in the state.
What is Oath?
Spoken, solemn promise to a Supreme Being that is made before a Notary. The individual may swear to tell the truth "under penalty of perjury," meaning they could face legal consequences if they lie.
